MUSIC LESSONS & ARTIST DEVELOPMENT
Meet The Teacher
Colton Cox is a singer, songwriter, and musician based in Kansas City. Colton is a graduate of the Wichita State University School of Music, where he obtained a Bachelor's degree in Guitar Performance.
After graduating, he moved on to direct the music lesson program at Damm Music Center in Wichita, Kansas, a post he served at for almost six years. Outside of his individual teaching duties there, he also taught rock band ensembles, assembled student recitals, taught several workshops on different musical topics, attended conferences and other events focused on developing musical education, and worked directly with parents on scheduling lessons and improving their children's experience.
Since moving to Kansas City in 2020, Colton has continued to be an active part of the Kansas City music and arts scene. He was a graduate of the Fall 2020 session of Artist Inc., an educational program provided by Mid-America Arts Alliance that focuses on giving artists of all pursuits the tools to build successful careers. He has also performed at many esteemed local venues, like Knuckleheads, The Rino, miniBar, and Greenwood Social Hall. Colton has also continued providing music lessons to students of all ages, both in his own practice and with local studios.

STUDENT TESTIMONIALS
"Colton is a great instructor! I came to my first lesson with a year of self-taught experience, but wanted to bring my knowledge of guitar to the next level. During my lessons, I learned how music worked and learned the theory behind everything I was playing on guitar."
- Leo Gilbert
